EAGI celebrates Nauryz

On 16 Mach 2017 the Eurasian Humanities Institute conducted an official celebration of Наурыз мейрамы. Nauryz is the major holiday of the year either of the Kazakh people or other nations of Asia that is celebrated for more than five thousand years. Nauryz is the holiday of spring, renewal of nature, the beginning of a new year, a new life. In honour of the holiday EAGI held sports competitions and a holiday concert. The teachers R.S. Baltabekov and D.S. Tashkeyev organized sports competitions on the sports ground of the Institute on the national kinds of sports: «Тоғыз құмалақ», «Қол күрес», «Қазақша күрес» and weight sports.
Prorector on the educational and scientific work of EAGI Akhmetov K.A. opened the concert programme with the greeting words. At the concert the students of the Institute Departments demonstrated the traditional costumes, songs and dances of different nationalities living in Kazakhstan.
In honour of the holiday of Nauryz there was held a competition of the wall newspapers among the student groups. At the end of the concert Prorector on the educational work the CPSc., Docent Ospanova Ya.N. and the Chairperson of the CYA Tyrnahan N. awarded the winners with diplomas and memorable gifts. After the concert the students and the teachers were invited to festive refreshments.
All the conducted events encourage the students’ love for their native land, its culture and origin.
